Overloading and Overenrolment
Overload refers to a situation where a student seeks to enrol in a total of more than 56.25 points in a semester, including points from other courses. Applications for overload will only be considered for one semester. Students who attempt to overload often experience study difficulties. Overloading is not recommended by the Arts & Music Student Centre and is restricted to students who consistently obtain good results.
An enrolment of up to 62.5 points per semester (one semester subject above the normal semester workload) may be approved for students with good marks (at least 70% in the previous semester) if the student has not failed a subject in the previous two semesters. Consideration will be given to students who are only one subject short of completing their degree who can demonstrate special circumstances. Study Abroad and exchange students will not be permitted to overload.
Overenrolment refers to a situation wherein the student undertakes more than the minimum points required for the degree (ie. 300 points in the Bachelor of Arts), or additional subjects at each year level.
