Background

This is an old scholarship set up in 1894 in the will of the Reverend David Kay in memory of his daughter. This scholarship is awarded every two years and will be open again in 2014.

Conditions

This scholarship is open to candidates enrolled in a graduate research degree in the field of history in the School of Historical and Philosophical Studies. Candidates must be graduates of the University unless in special circumstances this requirement is waived by the Council. The successful candidate must complete a further two years study to be awarded this scholarship on the continuation of their enrolment at the University of Melbourne. The scholarship is payable in four installments over the two years. As there can be only one scholarship holder at a time, applications are called for when the scholarship is vacant.
