ARC Discovery Project Grant for Centre for Contemporary Chinese Studies academics

Centre for Contemporary Chinese Studies academics awarded Australian Research Council Discovery Project grant.

Professor Christine Wong and Dr Sarah Rogers from the Centre for Contemporary Chinese Studies and their collaborators (Dr Brooke Wilmsen (La Trobe University), Professor Lin Wanlong (China Agricultural University), Professor Li Jie (Xian Jiaotong University), Professor Duan Yuefang (Three Gorges University)) were successful in the most recent Australian Research Council Discovery Project grant round.

The project will analyse the nature and impacts of the restructuring of China’s agriculture and rural society. New data will be collected in three provinces enabling in-depth analysis of China’s political and administrative systems, the nature of agrarian change in rural China, and the pace of agricultural restructuring. The research has the potential to inform Australia’s agricultural trade relationship with China.

The project will begin in January 2018.

Congratulations to all!
