The Publishing and Communications program at the University of Melbourne combines hands-on skills development with in-depth analysis of this rapidly changing industry. We equip students with globally-recognised skills to enable them to pursue a career in book, magazine, digital and web-based publishing, and professional communications. Our courses are relevant to those wishing to enter the industry and to professionals seeking to update their skills or engage in industry research.

Staff are also active researchers whose work canvasses current trends in the international publishing industry and its social and historical contexts. They are also members of industry bodies and regular participants in industry forums.
