The Faculty of Arts engages with scholars and students from around the world to offer a global university experience. Our aim is to be the leading faculty of its kind in the Asia Pacific.

We support academic colleagues with international research collaborations and provide opportunities for collaborative international teaching through University of Melbourne Overseas Subjects (UMOS) and other initiatives.

Students benefit from international guest lectures, conference participation, workshops and summer schools, and the opportunity to take UMOS subjects in-country. Our partnerships with China, India and Indonesia are key priorities for the Faculty. We also have extensive global partnerships which connect us with the University of Manchester (UK) and the University of Toronto (Canada), among others.

The Faculty’s international strategy is developed by the Associate Dean International, the Faculty International Manager, Deputy Associate Deans (for China, India and Indonesia) and an International Committee that includes representatives of each of the Faculty’s five Schools.
