HRAE affiliate Dr Fincina Hopgood Associate Investigator with CHE

This project looks at the various ways in which the experience of mental illness is portrayed in Australian art, film and television, and the influence of earlier European culture upon these representations. It explores the potential of visual culture to develop empathy for people living with mental illness.

HRAE affiliate Dr Fincina Hopgood will be an Associate Investigator at the ARC Centre of Excellence for the History of Emotions in 2015, working on the research project 'Empathy and portrayals of mental illness in Australian visual culture.'
