Please note that there is a significant waitlist for ALW2018, and the current program may change prior to ALW in March. Keep checking here for updates!
Camp Marysville is located on the Marysville-Buxton Road, about 5 minutes drive from the Marysville township, and is set up predominantly as a school camp. There is a dining hall with an attached kitchen garden, and a recreation hall with facilities for presentations. Both communal areas have aircon, but wifi is not available at the venue.
Accommodation consists of small groups (up to 4 people) in cabins. The cabins have two rooms, with 2-3 single beds in each, as well as a living area which also has beds in it. Each cabin has a bathroom to be shared by all cabin occupants. The beds have mattresses, but all other linen and bedding (incl pillows) must be provided by you. If you would prefer not to provide your own, you can choose to pay for a linen pack ($35) when registering. By choosing the 'own room surcharge' option ($70), you are reserving the right to have one of the bedrooms to yourself (you will still be sharing the cabin with 1-2 other people). You will need to provide your own linen, or purchase a linen pack.
Camp Marysville also have some self-contained cabins available onsite, which consist of two bedrooms (one with a queen bed, one with two single beds), a functioning kitchenette and a living area. Linen is also included for each bed. These can be booked directly with the venue via this link: https://visityarravalley.com.au/accommodation/camp-marysville#/accom/62934
If you choose to book these cabins, please choose the 'catering only' option when registering for ALW.
If travelling from interstate via airport: please keep in mind the travel times between Marysville and Melbourne airport (currently around 2.5hrs, however this may change due to roadworks). To be sure of making your flight, please book a return flight that departs after 7:10pm.
Presenters: if you are unable to present at ALW in March 2018, please contact Brighde on RUILemail@example.com ASAP as there are a number of people on the waiting list who we would love to give the opportunity to present. Thanks!
Everybody: We are pleased to say you will be provided with a hassle-free technological break on this weekend, as there is no wi-fi available, and telephone reception can be patchy, especially for internet use. Consider this your warning! Instead, the mountains are lovely, and there are a number of fun things to do in the area, as well as a beautiful garden to sit in (see below).
