The Victorian Imams Consultative Forum (VICF) is an initiative of the National Centre of Excellence for Islamic Studies (NCEIS) in cooperation with various Victorian Imams.
The VICF is an initiative that aims to empower Victorian Imams, academics and government to work together in generating awareness and useful and informed action on community safety, radicalisation and violent extremism.
The VICF is made up of over 30 imams from Victoria, representing a cross-section of Victorian Muslim schools of thought. In its first year (2015) the forum will hold a two day workshop. Participants will hear presentations from academic, government and community perspectives, and contribute to discussions on key issues of relevance to the VICF's interests.
Information about the VICF will be presented on the National Imams Consultative Forum (NICF) website, which includes a range of resources that challenge various forms of extremism from an Islamic perspective.
