Indonesian artists in conversation with Dr Edwin Jurriens

Dr Edwin JurriĆ«ns (Convenor, Asian Studies, Asia Institute, The University of Melbourne) will speak with Indonesian contemporary artists participating in SHOUT! 2015, organised by Multicultural Arts Victoria and MiFA Asian Pacific Contemporary Art as part of the 2015 Mapping Melbourne festival.

Mapping Melbourne is a showcase of independent contemporary Asian arts celebrating the vibrant influence Asia continues to have on Melbourne's cultural dynamism. SHOUT! 2015 showcases extraordinary Indonesian contemporary art from Yogyakarta and Bandung, from paintings and soft sculpture to inflatables and largescale installations.

Exhibited artists include Tisna Sanjaya, Andita Purnama, Afdhal, Octora, Erwin Windu Pranata, Sigit Santoso, Mulyana, Tamara Pertamina, Patriot Mukmin, Zico Albaiquni, Maharani Mancanagara, Erika Ernawan, Lingga Ami, Maria Indriasari, Dedy Sufriadi and Gusmen Heriadi.

The exhibition follows the international success of Shout: Contemporary Indonesian Art held at Museo d'Arte Contemporanea di Roma in 2014, curated by Bryan Collie and Santy Saptari.
