Arts Discovery Map - Terms & Conditions

  1. Information on how to enter the competition forms part of these Terms and Conditions of entry. Participation in this competition is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions. Only entries that comply with these Terms and Conditions will be considered valid entries to this competition.
  2. The Terms and Conditions of this competition are governed by the laws of the State of Victoria. All times and dates refer to the time zone in operation in Victoria at the time of the competition.
  3. The competition is being run by The University of Melbourne, Grattan Street, Parkville, Vic, 3010 (University).
  4. The Faculty of Arts Discovery Map completion commences at 10:00am on 20/08/2017
  5. The closing time for entering the competition is 4:00pm on 20/08/2017.
  6. Entry to the competition is limited to Victorian residents. The competition is open to Victorian residents of all ages and is free. Entrants under the age of 16 must have the consent of their parent or guardian to enter.
  7. Entrants may only enter the competition once.
  8. Staff employed by the University and their immediate family members are not eligible to enter the competition.
  9. To enter the competition, an entrant must visit each level of Arts West and receive a stamp from a volunteer. Upon completion of this they must complete an entry form. Incomplete or indecipherable entries will not be accepted.
  10. 3 prize winners will be [randomly selected] from the valid entries received by the University to receive one prize each. The prizes will be one iPhone7, 32 GB valued at $1000, an Arts West Skateboard Deck and an exclusive NGV visit.
  11. The prize draw will take place at Level 1 Arts West, West Wing at 4:30pm. Each prize winner will be contacted on the day of the draw via their submitted telephone number on the event registration form by 5:00pm.
  12. If a prize winner does not respond to claim their prize within twenty-eight (28) days of the draw, a re-draw will be conducted for that prize within thirty (30) days of the original draw date, in the same location, and with the same method. Redraws will continue in the same manner until the prize has been claimed by the prize winner.
  13. If a prize winner is under the age of 18 years, their prize will be awarded to the winner’s parent or legal guardian.
  14. A prize may be collected in person by the prize winner or parent/legal guardian after 5pm on Sunday 20 August at a time arranged between the winner or parent/legal guardian and the University.
  15. If a prize winner who has been contacted and been made aware of their prize winning, and has agreed to collect the prize or for which collection is the only method for receiving the prize, does not collect the prize within twenty-eight (28) days of this contact, a re-draw will be conducted within thirty (30) days of the original draw date, in the same location, and with the same method.
  16. A prize winner, or if under the age of 18 years their parent or legal guardian, may be required to provide evidence of their identity (such as photographic ID, birth certificate or current passport) when receiving the prize.
  17. A prize winner will be responsible for all costs associated with collecting and using the prize.
  18. A prize is not redeemable for cash or an alternative prize. A prize is not transferrable.
  19. The prize winners’ names will be published on Faculty of Arts website. By entering the competition, entrants grant the University permission to use their full name (and photograph, if provided by the entrant) on its website for up to 28 days from the date of the draw. The entrant warrants that it has the full legal right to provide any photograph it provides to the University, and to permit the University to publish that photograph on its website.
  20. The University is not responsible in any manner whatsoever for any problems or any financial costs incurred, or any combination thereof, including any injury or damage to participants or any other persons related to or resulting from participation in this competition.
  21. The University accepts no responsibility and shall not be held legally liable or responsible for any accident, loss, injury or damage to any individual or property whether direct or indirect, whether in contract, tort, negligence or otherwise arising out of or in connection with the competition or the prize, either during or after the competition.
  22. Entry into the competition signifies acceptance of all conditions. Entrants are required to abide by the Terms and Conditions as presented.
  23. The University's decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  24. A price cannot be exchanged or redeemed for other goods, services, cash or credit. If, for some reason, a prize is unavailable, the University reserves the right to substitute the prize for a prize of equal or greater value.

Personal information provided by an entrant to University for the purpose of entering the competition will be collected, used and disclosed in accordance with the University’s Privacy Policy. A copy of the University’s Privacy Policy is available at http://www.unimelb.edu.au/governance/compliance/privacy. Personal information collected will be kept strictly confidential and will not be sold, reused, rented, loaned or otherwise disclosed to any third party otherwise than in accordance with the University Privacy Policy and these Terms
