FAQs – Booking spaces in the Digital Studio

  • How do I see the availability of spaces?

    Log into the Digital Studio Booking System and select ‘Bookings’ under the ‘Schedule’ drop-down, this will display a calendar that allows you to see the availability of the Digital Studio’s spaces.

  • Why is my booking pending?

    All bookings are reviewed and approved by the Digital Studio team. If there are no issues, your booking will be approved without correspondence within two business days. You will only be contacted by the Digital Studio if there is an issue with your booking, it is a public event, or if you have requested technical assistance or support (see below).

  • I require technical assistance or support for my booking?

    Learning Space Support are available during office hours to provide phone and in-person assistance with technology in the Digital Studio just call +61 3 8344 0777. The Digital Studio staff are also happy, if available, to help support the technology in the studio. If you would like Digital Studio staff to contact you about technical questions please check the box “Require technical assistance or support” when making your reservation.

    If you know your event will require ongoing technical support across multiple hours it is recommended you book dedicated event technical support through the Learning Space Support website.

  • Can the Digital Studio help promote my event?

    The Digital Studio is happy to help support and promote Digital Humanities events to University researchers, staff, and partners. If you would like promotional assistance from the Digital Studio please complete the Digital Studio public event listing form, and check the box “Event open to UoM researchers, staff or public” when making your reservation.

  • Can I organise catering for my event?

    Yes, you can organise catering in the Digital Studio, but please advise the Digital Studio team via email so they can respond to any enquires from catering staff and ensure that there are appropriate bins available. Please refer to the University's Alcohol Policy (MPF1267) for events serving alcohol.

  • I would like to book a space outside normal hours?

    The Digital Studio’s standard operating hours are 9am until 5pm Monday to Friday. In some instances, bookings outside these hours can be arranged, please email digital-studio@unimelb.edu.au to discuss your requirements. For bookings outside of standard operating hours a Faculty of Arts staff member must be present, or a static security guard may be required.

    The office hours for the Digital Studio Information Hub (Room 310) are Tuesday to Friday 9am-5pm (closed on Mondays).
