Australian Industrial Relations Commission Centennial Prize
To commemorate 100 years of Federal conciliation and arbitration, members of the AIRC (Australian Industrial Relations Commission) established a trust to fund the AIRC Centennial Prize, which will be awarded annually. The prize is awarded by the Faculty of Arts and the Faculty Economics and Commerce, upon recommendation of the Deans (or nominees), after consultation with an Australian Industrial Relations Commission (AIRC) representative. Selection of the best research work will be based on the quality of the essay or thesis and relevance of the research to the AIRC and the community.
Eligibility
The prize is open to students who meet ALL of the following criteria:
- Students who are undergraduate and postgraduate research students AND
- Whose research work is in the area of Industrial Relations or Labour History AND
- Who are studying at the Faculty of Arts or the Faculty of Economics and Commerce at the University of Melbourne AND
- Whose thesis or essay was submitted during the last 12 months prior to deadline of award, or is ready for submission by the application deadline. (Incomplete work will not be considered) AND
- Who are local and international students enrolled at the University of Melbourne

The judges' decision will be final and the University reserves the right not to award the prize in the event it is considered that no work of sufficient merit has been submitted. Winning applicants please note the University of Melbourne reserves the right to publish the name of the winning applicant on its websites and other University of Melbourne publications.
