The University of Melbourne French Trust Fund
The goal of The University of Melbourne French Trust Fund is to build on the strength and vibrancy of French studies and networks at the University and to enrich and enhance them.

Research travel grants assist French Studies research in France or other francophone countries. The grants are intended to assist doctoral students and recent post-doctoral researchers whose projects require research fieldwork trips. Applicants will be confirmed doctoral students currently enrolled at the University of Melbourne; or they will have completed their doctorate within the past three years and have a significant current academic connection with the University of Melbourne.
The committee will consider applications for funding of up to $2000. The research trip must be completed within the year of the award, and successful applicants will be required to provide a report on the work carried out with the assistance of the grant.
Eligibility
Applicants must:
- Be PhD candidates currently enrolled at the University of Melbourne OR have completed their doctorate in the past three years and have significant current academic connection with the University of Melbourne
- Have a clear and justifiable plan for the use of the award which includes details of proposed research fieldwork.

You must supply the following documents to support your application and can upload these into the electronic application form:
- Scholarship Budget Form
- State your current connection with the University of Melbourne
- If you have completed your PhD within the last three years
- Details of other sources of funding and support received or applied for in relation to this travel
- Outline of proposed planned activities that will be undertaken through the Scholarship, including how proposed travel will add value to a thesis
- An itinerary for proposed travel, including a list of formal contacts/arrangements that have been established or are being established
- Current Academic Record
- Two (2) academic references

Applications must be submitted by closing date.
The judges' decision will be final and the University reserves the right not to award the prize in the event it is considered that no work of sufficient merit has been submitted. Winning applicants please note the University of Melbourne reserves the right to publish the name of the winning applicant on its websites and other University of Melbourne publications.
