Overview

Work Integrated Learning (WIL) is an umbrella term that is used to describe a variety of learning activities, experiences, approaches and strategies integrating academic theory with authentic real-world work experiences. This includes internships, work placements, community engagement opportunities, industry based learning and work experience. WIL represents engagement between University staff, students and industry partners to collaboratively work together and enhance a learning journey which benefits all parties.

The Faculty of Arts offers a number of WIL internship programs with government, community, corporate and industry organisations. These specialised study programs serve as a bridge between study and work. All internship programs require students to participate in industry-based placements, as well as complete a significant research project under the supervision of an appropriate academic staff member.
