Writers on Writers series
Join author and Bachelor of Arts alumnus Christos Tsiolkas in conversation with Professor Denise Varney, Dean of the Faculty of Arts, as part of the Writers on Writers series.
Writers on Writers is a series of six short books, first launched in October 2017, where each author reflects on another Australian writer who has inspired and influenced them.
This event is the launch of the third book in the series, Christos Tsiolkas on Patrick White. It will explore Christos’ year of reading Patrick White, his thoughts on White’s impact on Australian language and his ‘discovery and rediscovery of White as a writer’.
Writers on Writers is a collaboration between independent publisher Black Inc., The University of Melbourne and State Library Victoria.
“Writers on Writers is an example of The University of Melbourne and State Library Victoria continuing to work together to deepen existing knowledge, develop new lines of enquiry and advance the cause of Australian literature.” Vice Principal (Engagement), Adrian Collette.
Christos Tsiolkas on Patrick White will be released on 14 May 2018. Alice Pung on John Marsden and Erik Jensen on Kate Jennings were released last year.
