What Makes us Smart? On Human and Artificial Intelligence
Free Public Lecture
The past few years have seen an explosion in the power of artificial intelligence and data science: playing chess, translating languages, helping in the home, even driving cars. But there are interesting differences in how computers and humans – both children and adults – learn and reason. Many of these differences reveal the power and nature of human thought. This talk will focus on some of those differences and similarities, with a particular focus on learning words, concepts and other people.
