Faculty of Arts 2018 Careers Workshop

The 2018 Faculty of Arts Careers Workshop is free for Bachelor of Arts students and will take place across two days, Tuesday 4 December and Wednesday 5 December. The workshop is open to second- and third-year Bachelor of Arts students.
This workshop is designed to give you insights and professional skill development to help build your confidence when it comes to job searching.
Students are welcome to attend one or both days – please make sure to register for one or both! Please register your attendance here before 5pm Friday 23 November.
Day One – Tuesday – 8:45am - 4:30pm Seminar style session which will provide insights into: - Graduate employment market insights - Strategic Job Search - Graduate Employability Audit – measure your own employability level via an interactive audit tool - Graduate Recruitment Process: - Online application forms v cover letters / resumes - Psychometric testing - Video screening - Assessment centres - Interview Skills
Day Two – Wednesday – 8:45am - 4pm Smaller interactive workshops that students will rotate through: Workshop A – ‘Soft Skills’ - Transitioning to Corporate Life – dealing with change and setting an action plan - Building rapport, etiquette & Personal pitch (includes elevator pitch) – professional skills required in the workplace - Navigating Organisations & Networking – includes networking role plays in various professional and social networking situations - Interview Skills activity Workshop B – ‘Recruitment Preparation Skills’ - ‘Be the Recruiter’ - Cover letters and resumes - Assessment Centre – Experience a real assessment centre group activity. - Psychometric Testing & Video Interviews – What are they and how do employers use them?
