Ash Barnwell awarded National Library of Australia Fellowship

Indigenous Settler Relations Collaboration member Ash Barnwell has been awarded a National Library of Australia (NLA) Fellowship for 2019.

While based at the Library for three months next year, Ash will complete the archival phase of her larger project Family Secrets, National Silences: Intergenerational Memory in Settler Colonial Australia. She plans to create a critical inventory and qualitative study of the NLA's rich collection of self-published family histories to explore how families have narrated and/or silenced settler colonialism as part of their story across generations.
