Picking Up STEAM Episode 2

This episode is about the disruption of death. It is normal for people to post on social media at a funeral; you can speak to a chatbot or a physical avatar with the data of a dead loved one; and you can now curate Spotify playlists to play in coffins to loved ones. Why?

I spoke to School of Culture and Communication (SCC) digital media expert Bjorn Nansen and School of Social and Political Sciences (SSPS) social anthropologist Tamara Kohn about these eerie new developments of death in this episode of Picking Up STEAM.

Picking Up STEAM is a podcast by the Faculty of Arts at the University of Melbourne about the human consequences of the weird, ugly and the wonderful advances in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). The podcast is hosted and produced by Thomas Feng, with editing and audio engineering by Gavin Nebauer.
