Faculty of Arts staff peer mentoring

The Faculty of Arts is pleased to offer a staff peer-mentoring program in 2016. (Dyad mentoring will be offered in alternate years, with the next program starting in 2017.)

Details

Group based peer-mentoring is a proven way of sharing knowledge, finding support structures, improving networks, supporting organizational diversity, and promoting professional development.

In the past, we have had highly successful peer-mentoring groups on a variety of themes including: writing, career planning, finding work-life balance, and wholeheartedness. Participants choose the theme(s) on which they would like to focus. Support for the peer mentoring groups is provided through 3 workshops: a foundational workshop in which the groups are constituted, a mid program workshop, and a final workshop in which you will have the opportunity to share any structural insights that might emerge through your participation in the program.

This program is available to all Faculty of Arts staff, men and women, academic and professional, at any career stage. Participants in our past mentoring programs are welcome to join again.

Date for the foundation workshop: Thursday February 25, 2016, 9am -1pm, with an informal lunch to follow 1-2pm.

Place

Room 2, Cussonia Court
