In the Media: Associate Professor Adrian Hearn
US President Barack Obama has gone where no American leader has for 90 years, Cuba. Associate Professor Adrian Hearn comments on the visit.
"Travelling with his family, Mr Obama hopes the trip will be a turning point in a long, bitter relationship between the two countries. Adrian Hearn is an Associate Professor in Spanish and Latin American studies at The University of Melbourne. He says this visit is just the beginning, and we will continue to see relations between Cuba and the West thaw, especially as a new generation takes on leadership roles."
