Readers in Arabic

Arabic is spoken as a first language by over 280 million people and by many more as an additional language. In Australia more than 287,000 people speak Arabic at home (2011 census). Our early readers were translated into Modern Standard Arabic by Dina Kerr.

Arabic, a Semitic language, is the principal language of the Arab world (Middle East, North Africa), an official or co-official language in more than 25 countries and an official language of the United Nations. It is also the language of the Qur’an and thus important to all Muslims world-wide.
