digital domesticity

Dr Bjorn Nansen's latest book Digital Domesticity: Media, Materiality, and Home Life traces the shifting forms of digital technologies through this century, linking their domestic adoption and appropriation, use, abandonment, and adaptation—as well as the ecologies they form. The book offers a range of innovative ethnographic and digital approaches conducted through household interviews, technology tours, remote data collection via mobile applications, and participant data collection. The research performed by the authors builds on the domestication approach of household technology consumption and usage by integrating socio-material and communicative approaches. More information...
