Digital Environments: Communication in Immersive Media

Digital Environments: Communication in Immersive Media

Streamed live on 18 April 2019

Immersive media allow us to communicate information within an engaging and user-centric experience. Through understanding the affordances and practicalities of the technology, we can develop better experiences, communicate more efficiently, and attempt to eliminate misinformation.

This seminar discussed how technologies like AR and VR offer new perspectives by bringing information into direct context for the user, through relatable and natural scenarios. It will also cover the development of such technologies, the skillset required, and the integral role of design in bettering the user experience, bringing forward an altogether more-accurate method of communicating ideas.
