In this workshop, you’ll learn the basics of the digital qualitative research tool NVivo. If you’ve ever struggled to make sense of your data, or it’s getting a bit too messy, then NVivo might just be the tool for you! If you’re using interviews, news articles, speeches, images, or videos, then you’ll want to have a look at NVivo.

In this two hour workshop, you’ll learn how to import and manage your files in NVivo. Then, you’ll learn how to code (no not that kind of coding) your files. Then, you’ll learn how to code cases so that you can refine your analysis. By the end of this workshop, you will know how to get started with NVivo, and where it can take you throughout your research.

Please bring a computer with a copy of NVivo 12 installed. Instructions for students to access NVivo are here: https://studentit.unimelb.edu.au/software-license-keys.

Staff can access NVivo by logging a
Service Now request here: https://unimelb.service-now.com/it. Please allow a bit of time for these requests to be processed.

This workshop is part of the Introduction to Data Analysis Tools workshop series developed by the Digital Studio and the Sociocultural Informatics Platform (SCIP).
