Project description

The project envisages creating an interactive map which will be embedded into a larger web platform designed to showcase a large research project. After having carried out an extensive, multi-institutional research project in Indonesia from 2018-2020, the result was an extensive 250-page comparative report investigating the dynamics of women’s collective action in rural Indonesia. Part of the internship was aimed at finding engaging ways to present and explore the information in the report using digital and interactive tools. One component was the creation of a map dataset, including the text to be included in interactive popup boxes. Since the map will be incorporated into a larger website, a component of the internship was to identify which mapping software to use as well as the most suitable website creation tools and hosting options.

Want to get involved with the Digital Studio internship program? We welcome applications from research students to undertake the internship, and from academics and external organisations interested in hosting an internship and supervising an intern.
