The School welcomes applications for the McKenzie Fellowships, Discovery Early Career Researcher Awards (DECRA) and the Melbourne Research Fellowships (Career Interruptions) Program.

The School of Culture and Communication welcomes applications for:

The School can advise about your research grant application before you begin the process. If we believe that your project has merit we will offer to mentor it to completion. We can advise you about which academics to approach for further advice. Currently we have a significant number of ‘research only’ staff and we greatly value their work and contributions to the School.

Programs in the School have specific research interests that they want to focus on. Applicants are encouraged to look at these research projects on the Research projects web page. You are also asked to read the Research strengths web page in order to understand the specific research areas within the School. Applicants should, where possible, consult academic staff in the relevant area about their research futures in relation to their application.

The School participates in a number of collaborative research projects, including the ARC Centre of Excellence for the History of Emotions (with its ‘Shaping the Modern’ emphasis) and the Research Unit in Public Cultures. For more information please see the Research collaborators web page. Research grant applications may gain added value by examining the themes that these collaborative projects are investigating and linking to them.
