National Library of Australia Fellowship for Rachel Stevens

Dr Rachel Stevens has received a prestigious National Library of Australia Fellowship for her project, Refugees, Relief and Revolution: Australians in the Bangladesh Liberation War.

Using extensive manuscript, sound and newspaper materials held at the National Library in Canberra, including unique and under-utilised items, this project will offer new insights into Australian refugee history, its engagement with Asia during the Cold War and prominent role in international crises.

Dr Stevens is a researcher on Professor Joy Damousi’s ARC Laureate Fellowship on the History of Child Refugees.
