The School of Languages and Linguistics conducts research into a wide range of language practices, covering through its subjects a diversity of times, places and themes which reflect the latest developments in language and linguistic practice.

Master of Arts (Thesis only)

Doctor of Philosophy – Arts

Linguistics and Applied Linguistics PhD students are required to undertake 25 points of coursework (as agreed by the advisory committee) in the first year of their PhD candidature. Candidates are normally expected to have completed their 25 points of coursework and received marks of at least H2A in order to be confirmed.
