We welcome for consideration proposals for presentations and panels relating to the colloquium theme of reassessment and renewal. In this spirit, contributors may wish to address some of the big issues currently confronting the discipline of languages and cultures within the Australian tertiary sector, including:

• rethinking the place and future of languages and cultures in the university sector
• future of online and hybrid learning for language studies and studies in culture
• inclusivity and diversity in the teaching of languages and cultures
• emerging and future directions for research into culture and language

Approaches to these issues or to other aspects of the colloquium theme can be based on research which highlights new approaches or ways forward (e.g., innovative practice or new insights) and may be conducted in any of the following areas:

• research and teaching practices and methodologies in the field of languages and cultures, including in the areas of critical and global pedagogies,
• studies in culture(s), including in the areas of cinema, theatre, literature, art, music, media, sociology, food studies, ecocriticism, history, politics, cultural studies, gender studies, queer studies, etc;
• second language acquisition, technology in L2 learning and teaching, multilingual and intercultural education, language teacher education, work-integrated learning, etc.;
• language policy and advocacy for languages and cultures;
• indigenous languages and cultures; and
• translation studies.

While preference may be given to presentations that focus on the colloquium theme, colleagues are also invited to submit proposals based upon their research into any aspect of learning and teaching or the study of culture(s) within the broad field of languages and cultures. Comparative studies, involving more than one language are also most welcome.
