Adrian Hearn spoke at the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America

As Chinese economic and cultural ties to Latin America deepen, multilateral institutions are seeking to understand what this implies for the region’s future. On 11th April 2019 the School of Languages and Linguistics Adrian Hearn delivered an address at the United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America on comparative insights from Australia.

Drawing on his ARC and DFAT-funded research on global food systems, he noted that agriculture projects can and should be carefully managed to ensure benefits to local communities and ecologies.
