Professor Adrian Hearn visited the Centre for Belt and Road Research at Renmin University of China

Victoria is the only Australian state to have signed a Belt and Road (BRI) agreement with the Chinese government. How BRI projects might be implemented in mutually beneficial ways constitutes a critical research question for the initiative’s signatories around the world.

On 24 June Professor Adrian Hearn visited Renmin University of China's National Academy of Development and Strategy to explore this question with Professor Xu Qinhua, director of the Academy’s Centre for Belt and Road Research.

Professor Qinhua is planning a reciprocal visit to the University of Melbourne to meet researchers who wish to collaborate on this theme.
