Glassman Holland Research Fellowship for Dr Chris Hale
Melbourne Archaeology graduate Dr Chris Hale is the 2017 Glassman Holland Research Fellow at the W. F. Albright Institute of Archaeological Research in Jerusalem.
Dr Hale completed his PhD in the Archaeology of Europe, the Mediterranean, and the Levant at the University of Melbourne. In 2016 he was Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Australian Archaeological Institute at Athens. He has also worked for the British School at Athens as a Knossos Curatorial Assistant with the Stratigraphical Museum on the island of Crete during 2016 and 2017. He is Assistant Professor at Jinda Global University in Delhi.
Dr Hale recently delivered his Albright lecture on the Philistine Pottery from the University of Melbourne excavations at Tell es-Safi/Gath in Israel. He is pictured here with Professor Louise Hitchcock, at the Minoan Palace of Knossos, beneath the bust of the Excavator, Sir Arthur Evans — 3 generations of Aegean archaeologists!
