Launch of Special Issue on 'Australia's relationship with the European Union: From conflict to cooperation'

On Thursday 26 July 2018, Professor Nick Bisley, former Editor-in-Chief, officially launched the Special Issue 'Australia's relationship with the European Union: From conflict to cooperation' of the Australian Journal of International Affairs (AJIA), which was co-edited by Professor Philomena Murray and Dr Margherita Matera.

The AJIA Special Issue (Volume 72, number 3), consists of articles that examine:

  • "Drivers and difficulties in the economic relationship between Australia and the European Union: from conflict to cooperation" by G. Villalta Puig
  • "Overcoming legacies of foreign policy (dis)interests in the negotiation of the European Union-Australia free trade agreement" by L. McKenzie
  • "The business case for a free trade agreement between the European Union and Australia" by G. Suder
  • "Assessing Australia's options in the context of Brexit: engaging with the UK and the European Union" by L. Allison-Reumann, M. Matera and P. Murray
