Nini Salwa Istiqamah is a PhD candidate and researcher at the Asia Institute, the University of Melbourne. Prior to pursuing her doctoral studies, she served as an early-career lecturer and researcher at the Islamic State University Sunan Kalijaga, Indonesia. She holds a Master’s degree in International Relations from the University of Melbourne and a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Hasanuddin University, Indonesia. Beyond her research, Nini enjoys cooking and playing with her two children.

The Implementation of Chinese Sustainability Goals in Indonesia's Nickel Industry

This research investigates the role of agents and structures in the implementation of sustainability norms adopted by China through the governance framework of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) in Indonesia’s nickel industry.
