Governing Poverty in China post-2020: Aftermath of China's Targeted Poverty Alleviation Campaign

This research aims to examine China's evolving approach to governing rural poverty following the TPA campaign.  Based on in-depth interviews, this project will reveal the sustainability of rural poverty governance in the post-TPA era and assess the effectiveness of new governing strategies at a local scale. It will do so through primary and secondary data analysis, framed by existing theoretical work on governing poverty.  This study will provide new insights into how poverty in rural China is understood, measured, and governed in the post-TPA era.
