Migration and Diaspora Stream
Research Stream: Migration and Diaspora
The Diaspora and Migration research stream at the Centre for Contemporary Chinese Studies investigates how migration and international student mobility from China influence individual trajectories, community formation, and transnational exchanges of knowledge, capital, and culture. Drawing on expertise across migration studies, Chinese studies, higher education, and media, the stream analyses how mobility intersects with identity, social cohesion, and geopolitical transformation in the era of Global China and international migration. Our research generates insights that inform policy and practice, advancing understanding of diaspora engagement, education diplomacy, and cross-border collaboration.
