Professor Aaron Corn is the Inaugural Director of the Indigenous Knowledge Institute, Chancellery Research and Enterprise at The University of Melbourne. Professor Corn some three decades experience of close collaborations with Indigenous colleagues and especially Australian First Nations communities. He has worked towards broader recognition for the significance of Indigenous knowledge through multiple research and education initiatives, including major grants and fellowships led by Indigenous colleagues. His previous work as a lecturer in Australian Indigenous Studies and completion of a PhD at The University of Melbourne involved extensive collaboration with Indigenous colleagues in Arnhem Land, including founders of the band Yothu Yindi and the Yothu Yindi Foundation.

Aaron has recently been Director of the National Centre for Aboriginal Language and Music Studies, and the Centre for Aboriginal Studies in Music, at the University of Adelaide. He has served as a Director of the National Recording Project for Indigenous Performance in Australia since 2010, is a founding Director of the International Council for Traditional Music Study Group on Indigenous Music and Dance, and has previously served on the Australian Research Council College of Experts. His latest book, co-authored with Professor Marcia Langton AO, is Law: The Way of the Ancestors, published by Thames and Hudson in 2023.
