Associate Professor Rachael Diprose is the Deputy Associate Dean – International in the Faculty of Arts, and the Director- International for the School of Social and Political Sciences (SSPS) at the University of Melbourne. Rachael is also an Associate Professor of Development Studies and holds the SSPS Associate Professorship of Indonesian Studies. Formerly of the University of Oxford, Rachael’s research traverses two inter-related streams. First, her research is concerned with the dynamics of rapidly changing political and social contexts and the implications of such change for populations, the environment and climate change, governance, policy, and political order. Second, her research focuses on international development, especially understanding poverty and inequalities, with a particular focus on inclusion, gender, and empowerment. Rachael continues to collaborate in research, teaching, publications, public engagement, and other initiatives with colleagues from universities, civil society, and gov­ernment in Asia (especially Indonesia), Europe, the US, and West Africa, and has led large mixed- methods re­search programmes and held roles as an international advisor in a number of countries. She also holds an Australian Research Council Grant for collaborative feminist research with Universitas Gadjah Mada and Indonesian women’s organisations on Building Durable Responses to Gender Inequality in Indonesia.

Rachael juga merupakan Associate Professor of Development Studies sekaligus menjabat Associate Professor of Indonesian Studies. Sebelumnya dari Universitas Oxford, penelitian Rachael melintasi dua aliran yang saling terkait.
