Readers in Indonesian
Indonesian (Bahasa Indonesia) is the official and national language of Indonesia. The vast majority of Indonesians (97%) are fluent speakers of Indonesian while also speaking at least one of the local or regional languages of Indonesia (e.g. Javanese or Sundanese). Ditha Cahya Kristiena translated our readers into Indonesian.

Readers in Matu Chin
Matu Chin is a Sino-Tibetan language of Chin State in North-Western Burma (Myanmar). It is spoken by about 40,000 people world-wide (Ethnologue 2017). Members of the Matu Chin community in Melbourne translated these readers for RUMACCC.

Readers in Sundanese
Sundanese, a Malayo-Polynesian language, is an important regional language of Indonesia, mainly used in Western Java. Around 32 million people speak it as their first language. One of them, Ditha Cahya Kristiena, translated our readers into Sundanese.

Readers in Telugu
Telugu is a Dravidian language and one of the 22 ‘scheduled’ (official) languages of India. It is spoken by about 79 million people, mainly in the Indian states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, where it is an official language, but also in other Indian states and overseas.
Our readers were translated by Mallikarjuna Rao Rachakonda to promote literacy in Telugu. They are available in monolingual and bilingual (Telugu and English) editions.

Readers in Vietnamese
Vietnamese, a tonal Austroasiatic language and the national and official language of Vietnam, is spoken by about 85 million people as a first language and several million as a second or third language, both in Vietnam and overseas. According to the 2021 census, 320,758 people in Australia speak Vietnamese at home, which makes it the third most spoken language other than English.
Our readers were translated into Vietnamese by Trang Nguyen. Vietnamese is conventionally grouped into three main variants: Northern, Central and Southern Vietnamese. Where there are differences between the variants, we use the Southern Vietnamese variant in our readers.
