About
The Dr Rodney Lloyd Benjamin OAM History Prize supports Faculty of Arts graduate students who submit the best essay on Australian history, with preference given to essays that focus on aspects of the history of the state of Victoria.

Benefits
Up to $3,950 is available and only one award will be offered from this amount. Award payments will be made as a single lump-sum.
Eligibility
To be eligible for this prize, you must:
- be enrolled in a Faculty of Arts graduate degree; and ,
- have submitted an essay on Australian history.
Selection criteria
The recipient will be determined after considering the quality of the submitted essay as assessed by the selection committee.
Conditions
Recipients are required to:
- accept the award online within 21 days.
Outcome
Applicants are advised of the outcome via email within 8-10 weeks.
Application process
Eligible applicants must complete the online application form, including:
- a 4000-5000 word essay on Australian history.
