Wearable Devices and Communication Privacy: Perspectives on Health Information, Technology Use, and Privacy Risks

My thesis is to research digital wearable devices and the associated privacy risks from a communication management perspective. Situated in the field of media and communications, the PhD project intends to build upon scholarly debates on digital media consumption and communication privacy. It aims to investigate how the issue of privacy lies at the nexus of digital technology use and health, as well as how key topics such as privacy management and data sharing emerge in the everyday subjective experiences of digital wearable devices.
