Thesis

Toward a relational and collaborative approach in helping the vulnerable move from welfare to work

My research is interested in looking at the concept of relational bureaucracy, and more specifically, how governments and employment service providers can invest in building relationships with their citizens/clients to enable better welfare-to-work outcomes. More broadly, this relational approach also has implications for how it compares with traditional active labour market policies, and what it means to administer "effective" welfare.
