Video edit suites

Graduate studies have several high quality editing suites available to graduate students to help with course and subject requirements.

The Faculty of Arts Edit Suites are strictly for Faculty of Arts teaching and learning use only, and are not available for use by students in other Faculties.
The suites must be booked. They include the following software:  Adobe Creative Cloud

Users should supply their own personal hard-drive and appropriately back-up their data. Footage stored on these computers can be accessed by other users. Please only modify your own footage, and ensure that any sensitive material is not left on the computers storage drive. Important data must be backed up.

No food or drink is permitted to be taken into the Edit Suites. Edit Suites must be left tidy and clean at all times.

Booking request

Priority is given to specific subjects that involve video editing, and students in this category will have access to booking the Edit Suites via Checkfront, embedded in their Canvas subject site (this is accessed via the Loans module in the same way equipment is booked).

One-off and occasional use is available to Faculty of Arts students and staff for teaching and learning purposes (eg. graduate coursework students, capstone and honours students).  Students and staff within the Faculty of Arts may reserve edit suites by contacting the Arts eTeaching Loans Equipment Team: arts-equipment@unimelb.edu.au with the date and time requested, the context for your use and subject your use is attached to.

Location and Hours

Generally, suites are available for a short period of use in blocks of four hours. However, this time may be extended at the Loans Office's discretion, subject to use demand.
