Recent article in Pursuit highlights research of Associate Professor Mark Davis
'How the toxic went mainstream'
Lisa Needham has published an article in Pursuit on ERCC Lead Researcher Mark Davis' current work on online 'anti-publics' and extreme online discourse. Associate Professor Davis has been examining the ways in which far right ideology is gaining traction through the internet and focuses on such phenomena as the proliferation of toxic political memes and the harnessing of celebrity culture for the purposes of alt-right propaganda.
Mark Davis is a Lead Researcher, ERCC, and Associate Professor, Publishing and Communications, in the School of Culture and Communication, the University of Melbourne.
