Placement tests

All students wishing to enrol in a language subject for the first time are required to complete a background questionnaire online. This includes students who have never studied the language before. Based on the questionnaire responses, some students will be placed directly into the most appropriate subject. Others will continue on to take an online placement test. Depending on the test results, some students may also be asked to provide a sample of writing and/or attend an interview with program staff members to determine the most suitable subject to enrol in. Submissions

Your subject coordinator will advise on assessment submission. For submission guidelines please check the LMS website.

Extensions

Students may be granted extensions of up to two weeks (10 working days) to accommodate unforeseen circumstances, where the student’s capacity to complete required work by the due date has been affected by significant factors beyond their control.

An Assignment and Essay Extension Request Form is available from the link below. This form should be filled in and given to the subject coordinator before the submission date. Penalties apply to all work submitted late without an approved extension.

Special consideration

Students granted an extension who experience continued circumstances which prevent them submitting assessment by the revised due date, must apply for Special consideration to their student centre within three days of the revised due date. Information on applying for Special consideration can be found on the Students Special consideration web page and applications can be submitted online.
